PHILADELPHIA (CNS) — The U.S. Court of Appeals for the next Circuit ruled April 22 that the city of Philadelphia can bar Catholic Social Services of this Archdiocese of Philadelphia from putting kiddies in foster care with any household due to the fact Catholic agency upholds old-fashioned wedding.
“This ruling is damaging towards the a huge selection of foster kids who’ve been looking forward to a household also to the lots of moms and dads dealing with Catholic Social Services that have been waiting to foster a young child,” stated Lori Windham, senior counsel at Becket, that will be representing CCS and lots of foster parents that have sued the town.
“we are disappointed that the court chose to allow the town destination politics over the requirements of young ones in addition to liberties of moms and dads, but we shall keep on with this battle,” Windham stated.
In March 2018, Philadelphia’s Department of Human solutions froze brand new foster care placements using the archdiocese’s Catholic personal Services.
